Hair Removal

Everyone reacts to laser differently. It is mandatory that you receive a laser patch test prior to your treatments. From there, we can perform your treatment 24 hours after your initial patch test.

Hair removal treatments are for people who what to permanently reduce unwanted hair on their face or body.

For safety reasons, you may not be able to get diode laser hair removal if you have/are:

• Previous issues with laser therapy.

• Pregnant or trying.

• A history of keloid scarring.

• An active infection or history of herpes simplex virus (HSV) in the treatment area.

• Use of other hair removal treatments other than shaving within 6 weeks of treatment.

• Hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents.

• Use of oral Accutane within 6 weeks of treatments.

• New moms: must have 3 consecutive menstrual cycles and no longer breastfeeding.

You may feel some heat in the area once it starts, but this will only last a short time. Some people may not feel any sensation and others may feel like a snap of a rubber band or a prickly sensation.  

The applicator has a built-in cooling feature to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

 If you find it too uncomfortable, let us know and we can adjust the settings accordingly.

It depends on the are where you're getting the treatment. A small area (ex. upper lip) will be much faster than a large area (ex. both legs).

On average, the treatment times range from 5 minutes to 1 hour.

Most clients receive 4-10 treatments per area and these are done 4-8 weeks apart. The exact number will depend on each individual person's skin type, hair colour and texture and the area being treated.

It is recommended to have a touch up every 6-12 months once you have completed your series of treatments depending on how your hair responds to the treatments.

To ensure best results, attend your series of laser hair removal treatments until desired results are achieved. 

 It is important to make sure the area being treated is clean and shaved the day of your appointment. Do not apply any lotions, creams, make up or deodorant before your session (in the area being treated) and refrain from using any products that might irritate your skin 2-3 days before.  

All methods of hair removal (tweezing, waxing, sugaring, threading, etc.), except shaving, should be stopped 4-6 weeks prior to treatment to ensure hair is in the follicle. Results of the treatment won't be as successful if other methods are continued.

During your initial consultation, we will go over what you need to do before your first appointment.

Gently clean the treated area twice a day and apply sunscreen before going outside; however, avoid excessive sun exposure. Refrain from having hot baths, massages or any treatment that requires direct contact with the skin for the first 2 days after your treatment. 

All clients will be given an aftercare sheet for reference if needed.

 The treated area might feel like a slight sunburn, but will go away after 1-2 days. Some clients may experience a rash with some mild itching. Don't worry, it's normal - it's just the skin's response and it will subside after a few days. Some hairs will fall out more easily in the days following - this is normal. 

Cool compress or antibiotic ointment can help speed up the healing process.

No, it is unsafe to perform laser hair removal over a tattoo.

Even if you were planning on having that tattoo removed, the machine is not designed to remove tattoos. It can potentially lead to skin damage.

If you have a tattoo in the treatment area, we will cover your tattoo and treat 3-5 inches outside the area.
